Rapier

Rapiers have for many years been the sword that represented nobility and wealth. Considered the standard duelling weapon of their day: rapiers were carried across Europe as both fashion accessories and self defence tools. Hailed by many as the pinnacle weapon of finesse, the rapier is widely practised for it’s technical aspects and high levels of precision.

Rapiers fighting is geared more towards thrusts and stabs, rather than cuts and slashing; likely in part to the common wool and leather clothing of the time requiring extra effort to cut through. Throughout the years, rapier fighting has evolved to include the use of parry daggers, bucklers, and even in rare situations the use of a second rapier; but through every variation the common theme has always been to favour thrusts.

Our classes focus on teaching strong fundamentals and pays strong attention to the development of core; both in principle and in body conditioning. As with all of our classes, we pay equal attention to technical and practical training, as we believe that technique is only as useful as its application.

Rapier classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Classes are 1 credit per month for Founders or otherwise are $10 per class!
